On Thursday 8th September 2022, Brian VK3BCM, a radio amateur from Victoria, Australia reached the summit of Mt Phipps and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 7 contacts in total working on the 40 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Mt Phipps is 1536 metres (5039 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
