On Monday 1st April 2024 at 11:07 UTC, Ralf DD0VE, a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Petr OK1CEL/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from PR Krkanka (OKFF-0637), on the 40m amateur radio band. Petr made a total of 52 contacts while at the reserve.
PR Krkanka (OKFF-0637), is a Protected Area covering 105 hectares lying to the south-east of Prague in the centre of the Czech Republic. It was designated as a Nature Reserve in 1990 and is an IUCN Management Category IV area.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
