Roadside Dinosaur

Roadside Dinosaur (StreetView)
The concrete dinosaur has been in Bayville along Route 9 since 1932, according to the local historical society, and has stood in front of the House of Paints since 1957. It was recently renamed "Virginia" as part of a local student naming contest. As reported in the Ocean County Observer, "Virginia" is now covered with red, white and blue painted handprints, which were applied by customers in April 2007.
