In 1948, Henry Ford commissioned American sculptor James Earl Fraser (1876-1953) to create a bronze sculpture to memorialize Thomas Edison. Henry Ford admired Thomas Edison which inspired Ford in his own inventions and in his life. Thomas Alva Edison lived from 1847-1931 and posed for this status during the last months of his life.
