A cul-de-sac in Country Walk, Florida ravaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 was featured in a photo heavily circulated in the news. The house with the white roof had "Andrew was here" spray painted on the roof (see link).

Check out, and maybe post on, the BEV images of Oak Island, TX on Trinity Island east of Houston. The images show the destruction of the town from Hurricane Ike in 2008.
