Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Sears family

In 2004, 17 year old Jhyrve Sears was diagnosed with Krabbe disease and went to North Carolina for extensive treatment of the rare disorder. She could not return home, as her fragile immune system would not tolerate the mold levels in her family's old house.

ABC's "Extrme Makeover: Home Edition" built this house for the Sears family, complete with a hospital-grade air filtration system. Original airdate - January 23, 2005.
