Where Joyce Kilmer wrote

On the southwest corner of Airmount and Armour is the cottage where Joyce Kilmer lived almost 100 years ago when he wrote his famous poem "Trees." It's a very suburban area but 100 years ago there was probably 1/100th the amount of homes there is now, a much more serene setting.

"The window looked out down a hill, on our well-wooded lawn - trees of many kinds, from mature trees to thin saplings: oaks, maples, black and white birches, and I don't know what else."
