The opening of this plant was a major New England controversy during the late 80s. A billboard on Interstate 95 northbound once read: "Welcome President Bush! You are entering the Seabrook Nuclear Zone -- NO EVACUATION POSSIBLE." The plant currently generates over 1 GW of power.
