On Saturday 23rd March 2024, Brian BX2AKP, a radio amateur from Taiwan reached the summit of 奇萊北峰 (Qí Lái Běi Fēng ) (BV/HL-001) and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 9 contacts in total working on the 17m amateur radio band.
The summit of 奇萊北峰 (Qí Lái Běi Fēng ) (BV/HL-001) is 3607 metres (11834 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
