‘Healing of the Nations’

‘Healing of the Nations’ (StreetView)
The ‘Healing of the Nations’ ‘sculpture is mounted on the exterior of Blackburn Cathedral facing the cathedral plaza.

The sculpture by Mark Jalland in steel and copper was made as part of Blackburn’s Millennium celebrations and incorporates fibre optics which light up at might.

The sculpture takes the form of a globe with a river flowing through it flanked by two trees. This is a visual representation of the book of Revelation 22: 2 – “…and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life…”
