Île aux Oiseaux - a bird refuge

Lying in the estuary of the River Seine, this artificial island was created in 2005 after the construction of Port 2000, the large terminal of the container ships of the port of Le Havre which resulted in profound changes in the estuary of the Seine including the disappearance of the main natural refuge for birds.
