Dane John Mound

The Dane John Mound, that is surrounded by the Dane John Gardens, was once a Roman cemetery in Canterbury, Kent. The mound was was converted into a motte-and-bailey castle in the 11th century by the Normans and converted to a park between 1790 and 1803.
