Actress Jayne Mansfield, 34, and 2 others were killed June 29, 1967, when their Buick Electra crashed into the rear end of a semi tractor trailer. Three of Mansfield's young children in the back seat survived with minor injuries. She was travelling from an engagement in Biloxi, MS, to an interview in New Orleans.
