On Sunday 14th August 2022, Jo I1WKN/P a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Monte Matto – Cima Est and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 16 contacts in total working on the 70 cm UHF, 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio band.
The summit of Monte Matto – Cima Est is 3088 metres (10131 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
