Furniture: The collection consists of Norwegian and European furniture from the Middle Ages until today. The main focus of the collection is Scandinavian furniture from the 1900's.

Silver: The main focus of the collection is Norwegian silver from the Middle Ages until today. There are also examples of European silver from the same period.

Ceramics: European and Norwegian ceramics from Greek antiquity until today as well as East Asian porcelain, particularly from China.

Glass: The main focus of the collection is Norwegian glass from 1750 until today, though there are also examples of European glass from Greek antiquity until today.

Textiles: Norwegian and European costume and textiles from 1700 until today. The focus of the collection is European costume and Norwegian woven tapestry.

Posters: Norwegian and international poster art from 1900 until today.

Crafts and Design: During recent years the Museum has focussed its acquisition policy upon contemporary industrial design and contemporary crafts, as well as work from the recent past.
