On Saturday 30th March 2024 at 13:03 UTC, Louis ON7LO, a radio amateur from Belgium, made contact with Jakub OK4SU/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from PP Devět skal (OKFF-1368), on the 20m amateur radio band.

PP Devět skal (OKFF-1368), is a protected area of 3.3382 hectares lying in the north-west part of the Upper Svratka Highlands which are part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1976 as a Nature Monument and is an IUCN Management Category III area.

An IUCN Management Category III area is set aside to protect a specific natural monument. Examples of natural monuments include a landform, sea mount, submarine cavern, geological feature e.g. a cave or a living feature e.g. an ancient grove. These areas are often quite small but have a high visitor value.

Jakub was at the summit of Devět skal (836 metres asl) while he was at the reserve and made a total of 33 contacts for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group. The summit of Devět skal is the highest point of the Žďárské vrchy mountain range.
