The 450-seat Elgar Concert Hall, which is named for Sir Edward Elgar, is contained within the Bramall Music Building which is the home of the University of Birmingham’s Music Department. Sir Edward Elgar was the university’s first Professor of Music.

The Bramall Music Building completed the grand crescent alongside the Aston Webb Building at the heart of the university which had been vacant since the university’s Edgbaston campus was open in the early years of the 20th century.

The building is a highly adaptable and contains lecture halls, rehearsal rooms and performance space suitable for soloists, small ensembles. large groups and full orchestras.
