The AsiaWorld-Expo is one of the two major convention and exhibition facilities in Hong Kong along with Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. AsiaWorld-Expo, fully integrated with Hong Kong International Airport, is located in the northeast corner of Chek Lap Kok island, Hong Kong. It is operated by AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited and was opened on 21 December 2005 by Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong.
At a construction cost of HK$2.35 billion, AsiaWorld-Expo offers over 70,000 square metres of rentable space with 10 ground-level and column-free halls, including the 13,500-seat AsiaWorld-Arena which is the biggest purpose-built indoor seated entertainment arena in Hong Kong as well as AsiaWorld-Summit, Hong Kong’s newest and largest indoor conference and banquet venue that seats 700 to 5,000 persons, for exhibitions, conventions, concerts, sports and entertainment events.
