I believe there has been a diner here since 1949. It's not a "classic" diner building but still a great Jersey diner none-the-less. For at least a couple decades (maybe several?) it had the name Hillside Diner but apparently that changed in 2007 I think when new ownership changed the name to Oakland Diner.
In 2009 it was unfortunately the scene of some filming on that God awful "Real Housewives of New Jersey" TV series.

Used to go here a lot. Immensely popular with high school kids once they could drive at 17 (which is the Driving Age for Jersey.)
