The halt was originally opened in 1876 to provide a service for the symmer season in 1876 and was later closed in 1879. However, it opened once again in 1927. The halt opened this time to serve people watching the famous Isle of Man TT motorbike race, which is raced every last week of May and first week of June. The halt then once again closed in 1928.

What's left today:
Nothing of the halt remains today. The small crossing cottage still remains next to the former level crossing.
