Former prison of Algeciras

I was a resident back in 1974. The bed bugs were huge,the coffee was awful.

Top left of photo was the men's yard.also ladies prison.

Yup,bed bugs were big.I painted half of that nick with whitewash.

I was looking everywhere for a photo or a mention of this place.

I was in the ladies prison, 1982. I remember hearing the train station and seeing a tiny bit of it standing on a chair... I had no idea where I was and glad to leave after 10 days. A gypsy read my hand and told me I would visit many goals, I said, no way, I am no good at smuggling, never again. Little did I know that 5 years later I was stopped on the French border. I had paid £1000. I thought it was all over, well it wasn't. I spent a month in Girona gaol, then over a week spending one night in each gaol as I was returned to Algerciras and the brand new puerto2. There's a tale to be told one day....
