On 23 September 2010, a helicopter crashed on the lawn of the Kob Inn Beach Resort shortly after taking off.
The chopper took off at the resort, after it landed here for breakfast during a flight from Margate to Cape Town.
Police told a reporter that the aircraft apparently developed a low rotor RPM problem during take-off. The occupants of the helicopter was not hurt.
