On the night of 10/29/2022, a crowd crush occurred during Halloween festivities in Itaewon, Seoul. At least 154 people died, and at least 133 others were injured.
This the deadliest disaster in South Korea since the sinking of MV Sewol in 2014, which killed 306 people. It's also the largest mass casualty event in Seoul since the 1995 Sampoong Department Store collapse, which killed 502 people and injured 937.
