Steve Prefontaine's memorial "Pre's Rock"

Steve Prefontaine was one of the most esteemed American distance runners. On May 30, 1975, returning from a party Steve Prefontaine was driving down Skyline Boulevard, near Hendricks Park, when his 1973 MG B swerved left and hit a rock wall along the side of the street.

His memorial "Pre's Rock" located at the site of the crash near the intersection of Birch and Skyline Boulevard in Eugene.
