The Bruce Anchor is installed close to the Millennium Lifting Bridge at the entrance to the Douglas inner harbour marina.
This anchor was donated in 2000 by Bruce Anchor Limited and Shell UK Exploration and Production to the Manx Department of Transport as a symbol of the Isle of Man’s maritime heritage.
Bruce Anchor Limited which is based in Cronkbourne designed the 6.5-ton anchor for use in the off-shore oil industry.
