Thomas Brown was a Manx Poet and Scholar in the who lived in Douglas and Ramsey in the nineteenth century.

He was even during his lifetime regards at the Manx National Poet as many of his narrative poems were written in the Manx dialect. Perhaps his best-known work is the Fo’c’sle Yarns.
