The Wheatsheaf - pub interior of special historic interest (StreetView)
The Wheatsheaf on Market Street in the town of Atherton has been rated by Camera as a pub with a 1 star pub interior of special national historic interest.

The Wheatsheaf is a large red brick building on the corner of Market Street and Mayfield Street. It is typical of many late-Victorian pubs built in south Lancashire.

The interior has been subject to some opening-out particularly to the rear but the two front rooms have original features including, bell pushes, fixed seats, ceiling mouldings, stained glass and a vestibule-like entrance created by a 3-sided screen.
