The strange blue color of the roof is actually from a tarp that was placed over the house in order to protect it from the elements, since the house fell victim to arson in July 1998.

I lived a year in eastern Tennessee, so I got to visit fairly regularly in 2000-2001. I'm also a big Thomas Wolfe fan, so I made my first pilgrimage down there when the post office issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Asheville's a pretty cool little town, IMHO.
