These rancher style homes were very popular back in the 50's and 60's. Very modest by todays standards for any country music entertainer.

Jim had a home recording studio installed in his basement and is still in use today by the present owner. Presently called "Tone Chapparel"

Jim and mary had this home decorated very stylish with everything state of art for the 1960's.

There are many photos of Jim with beloved collie, Cheyenne taken in the back yard and later used for album covers.

Cheyenne passed in 1967 and was buried next to Jim in Carthage TX

the driveway on the left side of this property was added in recent years....possibly to accomodate the heavy traffic for the home studio. The original drive is barely visible on the right side of the home.

Drove by the house a few days ago and was surprised in it’s deteriorated condition. The upper driveway is crumbling to nearly nothing, landscaping is overgrown, roof is in bad shape, and the house appears to be abandoned. Hopefully, restoration is in it’s near future!
