S. Tucker Johnson is a member of the family that founded Johnson & Johnson. Both a philanthropist and businessman, Johnson was a founder of the Somerset Valley Bank, a regional chain and financial service firm that was purchased by Fulton Financial. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Benjamin School and Xhale, a medical technology company associated with the University of Florida.
Mr. Johnson regularly evaluates new technology and treatments when visiting the University of Florida. He helped fund the UF start up Viewray, a novel radiation oncology company formed after a McKnight Brain Institute scientific discovery and patent. Viewray has since moved from Gainesville to Cleveland and has received major investments from Orbimed, Fidelity and the State of Ohio as it prepares to bring its novel approach to cancer treatment to market this year.
