Manchester Central was opened 1.7.1880 and closed 5.5.1969. Manchester Central was part of Woodley - Glazebrook line in England and was also part of Manchester Central - Cheadle Heath in England.

Today the station is still there and is used as a exhibition hall called Manchester Central. The platforms were located inside the building and have been demolished.

Note: if you walk around to the back of Manchester Central you can see the viaducts that brought the line into the station area. Some of the viaducts are no longer there and a car park now occupies the location. Part of the original viaduct is also used for the Manchester metro link (the trams).
