River Sense

River Sense (StreetView)
The River Sense flows for most of its course through the county of Leicestershire in the East Midlands.

It is a tributary of the River Anker which in turn feds into the River Tame and is in the wider catchment area of the River Trent which covers much of central England.

The source of the river is close to the small village of Copt Oak in northwest Leicestershire and joins the Anker near the market town of Atherstone in north Warwickshire.

The Sense is fed by two tributaries the Tweed and the Saint.

Just north of the village of Congerstone a brick-built bridge carries the Shackerstone Road (minor road) over the Sense.
