Dennis Narlinger is a former technology executive and race horse breeder. He began career in computer and electronics industry in New Jersey in the early ’80s and shortly thereafter, relocated to California to work for Seimens. Struck out on his own, purchasing the brand name, Shugart Corporation, and began buying product lines from other companies, manufacturing disk drives, hard drives, circuit boards, etc. Within two years, the company grew from 10 employees to a worldwide operation with 3,000 employees, and five offices in Europe. By the mid-90s, Narlinger wanted to wind down his business interests and spend more time at the family's home in Mantoloking, N.J. He sold Shugart and is now semi-retired.
