Sabates is a minority shareholder in Chip Ganassi Racing, which fields teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He previously owned his own NASCAR team, Team SABCO Racing. He was an original owner of the Hornets franchise (NBA) and is a minority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats (NBA).
