Frank Lloyd Wright's Allen-Lambe House (Birds Eye)
The only residence in Kansas designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, this home was built for Henry J. Allen, a prominent journalist and statesman. Construction on the two-story house began in 1917 and was completed in 1919, the year Mr. Allen began his term as Governor of Kansas. The sweeping low roof line, ornamental stone trim and integration of the courtyard and garden into the living area characterize this home as the final example of Wright's "Prairie Houses."
