With an estimated net worth of $6.5 billion, the diamond magnate is one of the richest Africans. He's the chairman of the De Beers diamond mining company and its subsidiary, the Diamond Trading Company. He also has a large financial interest in the diversified mining company Anglo American. In November 2011 the Oppenheimer family sold the entirety of their 40% stake in De Beers to Anglo American.

Oppenheimer owns this English country estate, Waltham Palace, he also owns the Brenthurst Gardens estate in Johannesburg.
