Waddell Hancock was the widow of Arthur B. "Bull" Hancock Jr., an owner of Thoroughbred racehorses, and the son of the founder of Stone Farm, a 2,000 acre horse breeding operation in Paris, Kentucky. Mrs. Hancock was known for her entertaining at Claiborne Farm, having hosted such guests as Queen Elizabeth II and Helen Hayes. She passed away in 2005, but the home is still in her name.
