“The Brown Trout”

“The Brown Trout” (StreetView)
The Brown Trout is a steel sculpture which was commissioned by Newcastle Borough Council in 2015. It was produced by Phil Bown to a design by Andy Edwards. It is one of a series of works commission by the Council which are all similarly located in the centre of busy traffic roundabouts in and around Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The Brown Trout is over 3 metres in height and over 4 metres in length.

Andy Edwards was also the sculptor commissioned to produce the Bee Gees sculpture for Douglas Borough Council on the Isle of Man. It was unveiled in 2021 and can be seen on Loch Promenade between Marine Gardens 1 and 2 and opposite Regent Street.
