Childhood home in Sheepshead Bay, NY of 'The World's Greatest Drummer' Buddy Rich (1917-1987).

Rich was a child prodigy whose career started at the age of 18 months old as 'Traps the Drum Wonder' in vaudeville. Rich's first big job came as he became a member of Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra in 1939. He left in 1942 to join the US marine corps as a judo instructor, but never saw combat. He rejoined with Tommy Dorsey, but in 1946 with help of his long time friend Frank Sinatra got economic assistance to form his own big band, which toured on and off until his death in 1987.
