The block in the center of the thumbnail is home to the residents who took the city of New London, Connecticut, to court in the recent fight over property owners' rights. The city of New London won the right to evict the homeowners to make way for private economic development (note the abandoned lot just to the North, as most area residents accepted the city's offer to move out for the development)

Eminent domain came up in North Texas a few years ago. If you look at my pic of North East Mall, the development to the south used to be a neighborhood of very large homes that had been there for as long as I can remember. The city of Hurst did the same thing the New London is doing and now it is a shopping center.
