Gary Chapman is a Contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter and former television talk show host. In 1982, his song "Finally" recorded by T. G. Sheppard reached #1 on the country music charts and received a Dove Award as Songwriter of the Year from the Gospel Music Association. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album in 1994. It also yielded a contemporary Christian music chart #1 song, "Sweet Glow of Mercy." He has also won several Dove Awards and hosted the show 'Prime Time Country'.

Chapman married Amy Grant in 1982 and divorced in 1999. He married again in 2000, months after Grant wed Vince Gill. In 2006, Chapman was arrested driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana. Chapman his 2nd wife divorced in 2007.
