John B. Ford Jr. was the Chairman of Michigan-based and family-owned Wyandotte Chemical Co. John B. Ford Jr. was also known for helping revitalize the then-floundering Detroit Symphony in the 1950s. This home was built by society architect John Volk in the 1960s for Mr. Salt, of the prominent Detroit family known as the "Salt Fords" to distinguish from the more famous Fords of Detroit.

The home was purchased by real estate investor Richard Sabella and renovated. It is now on the market for $25 million.
