A life-sized bronze statue of Sergeant George Eardley VC MM by Nigel Weaver a war hero from the town of Congleton.

The statute depicts Sergeant Eardley in full battle dress holding a Sten gun and throwing a grenade while advancing.

Sergeant Eardley was awarded his Victoria Cross (VC) for his conspicuous gallantry on 16 October 1944 at Overloon in The Netherlands.
