The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Skellig Michael is a Christian monastery that dates to as early as the 6th century and was inhabited until the 12th century.
Skellig Michael is approx. 9 sea miles away from the harbour of Portmagee and can be visited by boat. Star Wars Episode VII and VIII were filmed on Skellig Michael, which boasted the tourism activity on the island.
