Wayne Mason is a real estate investor based in Atlanta. He has long been one of the area's most prolific real estate deal-makers, best known for buying large tracts and selling them to commercial and residential builders.
In 2004, Mason paid $25 million to buy a key part of Atlanta's Beltline development project. After becoming embroiled in a contentious battle with local residents over his plans to redevelop the park area into a commercial and residential neighborhood, he eventually sold the area to the city of Atlanta for $66 million.
Mason paid $9 million for this property in 2009.
