Erik Spoelstra is the head coach of the NBA's Miami Heat. He coached the team, led by LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh to the Championship in the 2012 NBA Finals. He is the son of Jon Spoelstra, who was an NBA executive for the Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, Buffalo Braves and New Jersey Nets, and the grandson of the late Watson Spoelstra, a sportswriter in the Detroit area. He has said his favorite vacation spot is "Maui, without a doubt."
