Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras' House

Francisco 'Pipin' Ferreras is a Cuban-American professional, and world record holding, free diver.

In 2002, Ferreras' third wife, French-born Mexican-national Audrey Mestre died off the coast of the Dominican Republic while attempting a free dive at a depth of 171 metres due to a malfunctioning lift balloon. The balloon was supposed to allow a resurfacing in about 3 minutes, but kept her underwater for more than 8 1/2 minutes.

Writer/producer/director James Cameron currently has the story of her death in feature film production. Jennifer Lawrence is rumored to be playing the role of Mestre. The film is slated for a 2017 release.
