Daniel S. Loeb's House

This is the legendary William H. Doheny Sr. estate, which lies inside the East Gate of Old Bel-Air, and occupies over 3 usable acres, four blocks North of Sunset Boulevard.

The house of over 10,000 sq. ft. situated on the plot is a sublime one story Hollywood Regency. There are 8 bedrooms, and 9 bathrooms, with a long private and gated driveway with parking for approximately 20 cars. William H. Doheny's wife, Onnalee, was a prolific gardener, and bought the property together with her husband because it was once a site of a botanical garden and was planted with a number of exotic-specimen trees.

The estate hit the market in February 2014, with an asking price of $43,000,000. It sold for $34 million in September that year to billionaire hedge fund mogul Daniel "Dan" S. Loeb.

Loeb will reportedly be tearing the house down and building a larger structure.
