Segal "Ed" Drummond is executive vice president of Drummond Co., one of the largest privately-owned coal-mining and processing company in the country. Drummond Co. operates Alabama's largest coal mine, the Shoal Creek Mine. The company was founded by his father, Heman Drummond in 1935. Ed, along with his brothers, Donald, John, Garry and Larry now run the company. As of 2006, the company had profits of $2B with over 5,100 mines in operation in the U.S. and Columbia.
