Dr. Edward Fritsch, also known as Ed, Ph.D is the Founder of Neon Therapeutics Inc. and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Fritsch serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Phylos, Inc. Dr. Fritsch joined Phylos in January 2002. Prior to this, he spent 19 years at Genetics Institute (GI, now part of Wyeth Research). He joined GI as one of the early Senior Scientists and advanced to Vice President of Research. Later he became Vice President of Process and Product Development where he was responsible for the development of a number of protein pharmaceuticals such as Erythropoietin, Factor VIII, Factor IX, BMP-2, Il-12 and many others. He spent the last two years at GI as Vice-President of Development Management, having responsibility for overall project management of all protein development projects. He has authored numerous publications in the field of molecular biology and genetics, including the popular Molecular Cloning: A Laboratory Manual, published by Cold Spring Harbor Press. He served as Assistant Professor of Michigan State University for 2 years. Dr. Fritsch received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin. .
